Sungai Besi Air Force Base

Sungai Besi Royal Malaysian Air Force Base is moving out for RM500 million cash.Malaysia is facing scarcity of land like Singapore and Israel for city development. This is what if we buy the arguments put forward by the Malaysian politicians in the ruling party of UMNO. RMAF have to move out lock, stock and barrel within these few months.

The plan to purchase this strategic air base was hatched out in great secrecy because the enemies were everywhere. If the enemies were to know surely they would conquer with higher cash biddings so the purchase intention had to fall under the protection of the official secret act.

Some argued that the malay leaders had the mind-set of the nomadic sakais for not attaching any sentiments to old things. They called it half baked civilization that why they were used to live in wooded houses and moved about freely. They just want to rebuild a place anew just like they moved out from their old settlement by forgetting nothing about that old settlements. The leadership wanted to bulldoze University of Malaya,Royal Military College the old and the historic stadiums but aborted due to the financial crisis of 1997/8 otherwise would have gone by now.Pudu prisons andSekolah Alam Shah are gone and possibly the King's Palace would be the next. This sakai mindset of the malay leaders must be changed if Malaysia want to have a country of character and not a typical concrete jungle.

What kind of other argument to this blatant land grab that can justify the bulldozing of the strategic air force base. Can it not turn the air base as the air force university by preserving the existing landscape and all the buildings? If not a sakai mindset what is it?Can it not be an intellectual and learning hub for the air force or worst come to worse preserve it as a historical site for the public to rest and relax during the weekends.

Possibly there is a strong financial rewards in the brutal land grabbing exercise that the public might not know only those in the corridors of power would surely be privy to.These people at the top always travel overseas and enjoying seeing historic buildings of the world but when come to our country they would find ways to demolish for easy monies. This is really a half passed six mentality at the highest level.

Are there on thinkers among the 43,000 staffs at the Prime Minister Department or are just to serve the one man and his favourite wife.
